JASPER remanufactures a complete line of Rear Axle Assemblies and Differentials including Dana, Chrysler, Spicer, Ford, and GM. Most popular chassis applications are available for immediate exchange. Toyota and other manufacturer's differentials are available with one day in-plant custom remanufacturing. When it comes to remanufacturing differentials and rear axle assemblies, JASPER sets the standard, adhering to the measured standards of the original equipment manufacturer. Our state-of-the-art reman processes allow us to remain firmly on the cutting edge when it comes to remanufactured differentials. Factory and distributor inventories together with a substantial stock of parts, allow us to provide overnight availability on over 500 models and ratios. Remanufactured Differentials FAQ What is the difference between a used, rebuilt and remanufactured differential? USED. Used differentials are generally removed from a junkyard vehicle and may not even receive a surface cleaning to remove outside road dirt. Used differentials are normally not disassembled, internally cleaned, or inspected. Used or junkyard components often have high mileage along with a poor history of maintenance – this can be a failure waiting to happen. Used or junkyard differentials may also come from a vehicle that was involved in an accident. In this case, the differential may have unseen damage. REBUILT. Rebuilding is the reconditioning of components by cleaning, inspecting and replacing broken or severely worn parts. Rebuilt component quality can vary widely and many rebuilt products come with only a short term warranty. REMANUFACTURED. Remanufacturing is to make as closely to new as possible. Components are carefully inspected, checked against original equipment measured specifications for correct dimensional tolerances and precisely remanufactured. Replacement parts are new or requalified to meet exacting standards and tolerances. It’s important to note that later model vehicles are very noise sensitive, so care must be taken when selecting a replacement differential for your application. Used and rebuilt differentials may not take this issue into consideration. What is the warranty on a JASPER remanufactured differential? Most applications are covered by a 3 Year/100,000 mile (whichever occurs first) nationwide warranty – parts and labor. Ambulance, automotive off-highway use, package delivery, police, snow removal, taxi, tow truck, transit bus or any vehicle over 1 ton receive a warranty of 18 Months or 100,000 Miles, whichever occurs first. What is the difference between a standard/open differential and a limited slip differential? With a standard or open differential, the differential will send power to the wheel that is experiencing the least resistance when encountering loose gravel or ice, for example. A limited slip differential, however, will transmit more power to the wheel that is not spinning. Many people use the term PosiTraction for a limited slip differential. Do you offer a remanufactured differential for my vehicle? JASPER has immediate or very fast turnaround on over 500 ratios and applications so chances are good that we have a remanufactured differential for your vehicle application. JASPER remanufactures practically any differential for cars, trucks, vans and SUVs, and for a number of foreign applications as well. 2 Wheel Drive / 4 Wheel Drive Rear Differentials Jasper Engines and Transmissions offers a complete line of full-float and semi-float rear wheel drive differentials for Dana/Spicer, Dodge, Ford, GM, RAM and even Isuzu, Mercedes, Nissan and Toyota truck applications – up to 2 tons. The thorough remanufacturing processes of JASPER assure consistent quality and reliable performance: - Housings are checked for straightness and, if necessary, are straightened with an industrial grade press. - Bearings are preloaded to OEM specifications for longer bearing life, smooth operation and proper break-in. - Loctite® is applied to bearing races to ensure maximum securement. - Remanufactured differentials are inspected for correct backlash clearance to assure proper gear lubrication for reduced noise and to avoid overheating, especially in severe-duty applications. - Tooth contact pattern is inspected and adjusted to utilize the full structure of the gear for minimum gear noise and reduced fatigue. - Bearing bores on semi-float differentials are inspected for correct dimensional tolerances. Bores can become distorted from wear and if the bearing race has spun in the bore. Bores that are found to be out of round are machined and sleeved to original dimensions. - Electric and air lockers for Jeep differentials are installed if your application is so equipped. During the remanufacturing process, JASPER has the ability to remanufacture axle ends on full-float applications up to 1 ½ tons. JASPER has a rigorous testing process and have led the industry since 1942.
